Single layer cotton summer headband, with pleats, elastic in the elastic covering and doubled ties. The headband's pleated part is wide enough to protect your head from direct sunlight and overheating. The elastic will keep the headband firmly on your head, while the long ties will add elegance to the headband.

How to measure the head circumference? Place the string or tape measure around your head about 1/4 inches (0,5 cm) above your ears, completely circling your head. See the photo gallery.
- You will need a scrap of lightweight soft thin woven cotton fabric for the headband. Scrap size is 47 inches wide x 37 inches high (120 cm wide x 94 cm high). This scrap size is suitable for small to large size headbands.
- You will also need 4 3/8 inches (11 cm) of 1/4 inches (0,6 cm) wide elastic. This length of elastic includes seam allowances. Seam allowance is 3/4 inches (2 cm) to each end of the elastic.
Tutorial and sewing patterns - all measurements are given in inches (in) and centimeters (cm).
All sewing patterns have seam allowances.
Sewing patterns you can print out on both US Letter and A4 size paper. Each size (US Letter and A4) is printed separately.
US Letter size paper measurements: 8.5 inches x 11.0 inches (21,6 cm x 27,9 cm).
A4 size paper measurements: 8.3 inches x 11.7 inches (21,0 cm x 29,7 cm).
